If he would have studied... If he had studied... "had + PP" dans la clause IF du 3rd conditional
Regle d'or : Dans la clause IF (la condition), on n'utilise JAMAIS "will" ni "would". Ces modaux apparaissent uniquement dans la clause principale (le resultat).
